Well I am finally coming into the modern era. I decided I could no longer resist the Facebook/Twitter world. So I spent a long day with my son joey, who is a wizard at that stuff. Joey is in fact handling all the social media aspects of the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame which I founded last year.

Check it out at nvbhof.com.

Anyway, I think I'm a pretty poor student of the modern technology but I am trying to get up to speed. I've issued a few tweets and thrown a couple of pictures on my Facebook page. I had a handful of Twitter followers when we mentioned on the Handel show that I had entered the Twitter world and within an hour about a hundred more people had followed me. Wild!  Anyway if you are so inclined, you can follow me now on Twitter @boxingrich

On Saturday, I stopped in at this small gem of a local market/deli called Tony's on Glenoaks Blvd in Burbank. Much to my surprise, under the menu for Tony's Sub Sandwiches was a several years-old picture of the Handel show crew. It was a picture of Handel, myself, Hoffman and the immortal Paul "the Wall". Seems like the owner of the place got the picture at one of our Handel Live Extravaganza shows. by the way, try the tri-tip.

Later that day, it was on to the Dave Hull the Hullabalooer book signing in Burbank. Dave was at the height of the Crazy DJ 60's/70's/80's era in Los Angeles.  Dude was so funny. i got to work with him at KRLA (The Heart and Soul of Rock and Roll") from 1983-'85. That era of major personality DJ, who could make or break records and artists has ended. Hull had the morning show at KRLA, I did sports every day on the show, and we broadcast the Raiders games, on which I was the color commentator. When the Raiders made the Super Bowl in 1984, we did the morning show for a full week from Tampa Bay. It was an unforgettable week, and I wrote a short chapter on it in Dave's new book "Hullabaloo! The Life and Misadventures of a Radio Legend."  It was gratifying to see the long lines of people buying the book and getting it signed by Dave. He is truly one-of-a-kind (and thank God for that!)
