Dash cam video released from Middlefield police shows a man shooting at police with an assault rifle during a traffic stop in March. During a news conference Friday, police showed the weapons and other items that were found in the suspect's car. According to police, officers pulled over James Gilkerson, 42, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, on March 10 for failing to stop at the intersection of East High Street and North State Avenue. The video shows Gilkerson getting out of the car and firing an AK-47-style rifle at the police officers. They returned fire and he was killed.

Wednesday night's Sabres/Bruins game was the first sporting event in Boston since the marathon bombing Monday. Before the puck dropped, spirits were lifted when fans who packed TD Garden sang the Star Spangled Banner, then chanted USA! USA! USA!

Louisville guard Kevin Ware suffered a gruesome compound fracture in the first half of the Cardinals' Midwest regional final against Duke on Sunday.

Ware rushed out to challenge a 3-point shot by Duke's Tyler Thornton and appeared to land awkwardly. When laying on the court, the tibia bone in his right leg appeared to be protruding from the skin. The game was stopped for a prolonged period of time and a pall fell over Lucas Oil Stadium

Louisville's players reacted with anguish. Chane Behanan fell to the floor sobbing. Russ Smith was crying heavily. Coach Rick Pitino was wiping tears from his face.
