A Seven Oaks resident said her mountain community lost a piece of history in the fire that consumed what may have been the last hiding place of Christopher Dorner.
Holly Haas, 51, lives on Seven Oaks Road year-round, about a mile from the cabin where a man believed to be Dorner hid from law enforcement officers. After a pursuit and shootout that left one deputy dead and another seriously hurt, law enforcement officers watched as smoke began pouring from the cabin and finally burned to cinders.
No one attempted to douse the fire.
