Proposition 36 would revise California's three strikes law in a few different ways, most notably by not imposing a life sentence if the third strike was neither serious, or violent. It would also allow for the re-sentencing of prisoners serving life, but continues to impose the sentence for certain offenses and if previous convictions were for rape, murder, or child molestation.
