LOS ANGELES - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the 17th consecutive day and 23rd time in 24 days, decreasing 1.4 cents to $4.141.

The average price is 6.9 cents less than one week ago, 18 cents lower than one month ago and 24.3 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped 18.4 cents over the past 24 days, including 1.5 cents on Thursday. It had risen 32 times in 33 days before the decreases began, increasing 57.6 cents.
