Open enrollment in California's health insurance marketplace begins on October 1st and call centers in the state are gearing up to sign up those who need coverage.
San Jose Mercury News reports about 4 million people in the state are eligible for coverage under the Affordable Healthcare Act, but many are still unaware health insurance will soon be required.
The call centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Agents are equipped to answer calls in 13 languages, and translators are available for other dialects.
