An L.A.P.D. gang expert testified Friday accused killer Pedro Espinoza is an active gang member who was probably hunting for rivals to attack the night Jamiel Shaw, Jr. was killed.
Officer Winston Lee told jurors Espinoza openly admitted his membership in the Alsace Street 'clique' of the 18th Street gang and told police he went by the monikers, "Stoner," "Darkee," and "Minor."
"I believe he's a high ranking soldier within the 18th Street gang," Lee said.
It's the second day of testimony aimed at establishing Espinoza's gang ties.
