John and Ken, the popular KFI/640-AM talk show hosts, brought their self-described "circus" to Anaheim on Wednesday to rail against high-speed rail.

The outspoken hosts with a penchant for stirring up protests and political activism trained their ire on plans to build a so-called bullet-train system between Anaheim and San Francisco at up to 220 mph.

The duo broadcast its 3 to 7 p.m. show live from the Ayres Hotel, across from the Honda Center.

They asked listeners to come to the hotel and sign a petition calling for an election to stop the railway. During the first hour, more than 300 listeners signed the petition.

By 5 p.m., a line of more than 20 cars backed up onto the nearby 57 freeway off-ramp.
