Newport Beach police traveled to San Diego on Friday to investigate whether a body found in a dumpster was that of the wife of a man who's facing murder charges in connection with her death.

Detectives traveled to a hillside community of Lakewood where authorities found a body on Thursday. The officers are investigating whether the body is that of Quee "Q.C." Chadwick, whose husband, Peter, has been charged with her murder.

Few details were being released about the case on Friday. The Newport Beach Police Department put a hold on the release of information with the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.  An autopsy was being performed to determine the identity and cause of death.
