Police arrested a Moreno Valley high school student after he allegedly wrote a note threatening  to shoot a teacher, authorities said Tuesday.

Fernando Hernandez, 18, was arrested Monday on suspicion of making terrorist threats.

Investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department searched Hernandez’s home, with the cooperation of his parents, and found a bolt-action rifle and small amount of ammunition. The rifle was purchased legally and was secured with a trigger lock, according to a statement released by the Sheriff's Department.
