
Many of you may have gotten a notice like this in the mail, DO NOT THROW IT AWAY. Los Angeles County is attempting to raise taxes on property owners to adress the water related challenges that the county is facing.
The Los Angeles County Flood Control District is proposing to adopt a Clean Water, Clean Beaches Measure, which would establish an annual fee to pay for clean water programs. The proposed clean water fee would be imposed upon property owners within the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
You have two ways of opposing this water tax. 1. Submit the protest form that arrives in the mail. 2. Attend the Public Hearing on January 15, 2013 and express your opposition. The hearing will be held January 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Room 383, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
To download a new protest form click here or just write a protest letter, and mail it to Executive Officer Board of Supervisors, P.O. Box 866006, Los Angeles, CA 90086, including the County Assessor’s Parcel I.D. number. Mail ASAP so it arrives before January 15, 2013.

There will also be a peaceful protest at the Kenneth Hall of Administration on Tuesday January 15, 2013. To join the protest get to the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012 at 8:00 AM. The protest will last until the hearing starts at 9:30 AM.
