City Controller Wendy Greuel's mayoral campaign got a boost Tuesday after the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor's political committee voted to endorse her over rival Eric Garcetti in the L.A. mayor's race.
The County Fed represents 300 area unions and over 600,000 workers. The group is a powerful force in city elections, helping campaigns with voter outreach.
Two more L.A. County Fed committees must sign off on the endorsement. A final vote is set for next week. Alice Goff, a member of the L.A. City Coalition of City Unions, said she believes the Greuel endorsement will stick. "There's no reason to indicate it would change," she said.
