It's tough to fight City Hall, even when you have the councilman of your district on your side.
That's what Idrea Lippman, owner of the Lucky You Resale store at 12441 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood is learning since the city Building and Safety Department cited her and neighboring businesses that they will have to take down signs that have been up for more than 30 years.
"Apparently, the city doesn't have any procedures to allow for grand fathering in these signs, even though they've been up all these years," Lippman said. "For little businesses like ours, these signs are the only way we can get people's attention that we're open for business."
