After being accused of sickening six other students with a pot brownie brought from home, a student at Pomona Elementary School was arrested by Costa Mesa Police Department detectives after police said school administrators found a bag of marijuana in his backpack, according to a department spokesman.

The 12-year-old was taken into police custody at his residence in Costa Mesa on a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana on campus, police spokesman Greg Scott said.

Scott didn't identify the student, who was released into the custody of a parent, and didn't know at what time school administrators contacted the Police Department.
