Why: Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants in Rancho Cucamonga and Riverside are holding a fundraiser where 100% of the day's net proceeds from all food and beverage purchases and 15% of the Day's gift card sales will be donated to the families of Officer Michael Crain, Deputy Jeremiah MacKay and Deputy Alex Collins through the RPOA (Riverside Police Officers' Association) and S.E.A.T (Sheriff's Employee Assistance Team).
Riverside police Officer Michael Crain and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Detective Jeremiah MacKay were killed in the line of duty during Christopher Dorner's rampage last month.
San Bernardino Coutny Sheriff's Deputy Alex Collins was shot in the shootout in Seven Oaks and had to undergo surgery.
Farrell's Riverside will have 2 mounted RPD units throughout the day and the RPD helicopter is scheduled to land for the kids to see upclose from 11:30am - 12:30pm and again from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. (Times for these events are tentative and assume there are no emergencies that need their assistance)
