News truck was broken into sometime between Sunday and Monday. Burbank PD was on scene within moments of my call....they even sent a CSI unit to dust for prints. Thankfully, no one was hurt and nothing was taken. But, boy am I pissed!!!!

Investigators have asked for help to find a man charged with murder who was accidentally released from jail last month because of a clerical error.

Johnny Mata, 32, was released from the downtown Inmate Reception Center on April 4, said Capt. Chuck Antuna, who heads the center.

Mata was in custody for a case that was dismissed when prosecutors filed a new murder charge for his role in an alleged 2010 gang shooting in Baldwin Park, Antuna said. However, the inmate was released before a clerk entered a hold for him. 

Authorities realized the mistake the next day.

The department announced Mata's release Friday after being unable to find him the past month.

``We are concerned and we are looking for the public's assistance in locating Mr. Mata,'' Antuna said. ``We consider him a danger to the community.''

Antuna says that since 2012, the department, which processes more than 150,000 inmate releases a year, has had seven similar errors. All those mistakenly released inmates were found.

No, not that Birdman... This one.

A new report released by  SeekingArrangment.com, a site that pairs wealthy older men with younger women in hopes of fostering a sugar daddy-sugar baby relationship, shows changes in the demographic of men who become sugar daddies as well as the top 20 "sugar daddy" capitals of the U.S.

The website measured the number of sugar daddies in major metropolitan areas and found that Atlanta had the highest number at 5.98 per 1000 men. Scottsdale, Arizona came in second place, followed by San Francisco.

In an effort to reduce the demand for victims of human trafficking, the District Attorney’s Office will release the names and photographs of those defendants convicted of solicitation in San Bernardino County. The following individuals were arrested, and convicted for either patronizing or soliciting for prostitution. All photos and information will automatically be removed after one year from the conviction date.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - A man was in custody today for allegedly trying  to kidnap two women in separate incidents in the North Hollywood area.

Jason Kies, 37, of La Crescenta, was arrested Friday and was booked on  suspicion of attempted kidnapping, Los Angeles police said. He was being held  on $2 million bail.

Detectives sought any other victims, police said, adding that Kies is  known to frequent the Burbank area.

Kies tried to force a woman into his vehicle near Ben Avenue and Hesby  Street about 8 a.m. Friday, police said.

About four hours later, Kies tried to steal something from a Marshalls  department store in Studio City at 11239 Ventura Blvd., police said.

He ``fought with a security guard and fled without taking any  property,'' police said.

About 1 p.m. Friday, Kies followed a woman jogging near Tujunga Avenue  and Sarah Street, grabbed her and tried to force her into his car, police said.Detectives identified Kies as a suspect, started watching him, then  arrested him.

``He was observed following a lone female jogger in La Crescenta, slowly  following her along side streets,'' police said. ``Detectives quickly moved  to prevent any further acts of violence and took Kies into custody without  incident.''

Should the award show be moved?

The Oscars are getting out of the way of next year’s Winter Olympics and moving into March, 2014, but the show then plans to return to late February for the 2015 awards.

The move to March allows the Academy to slightly adjust the timetable that forced voters to cast their nominating ballots earlier than ever this year, although it still requires ballots to be returned in early January.
