President Obama will be back in L.A.
 this week.

Given the tight presidential race, it's only logical that the candidates would be aiming at voters through the most effective of means -- late-night talk shows.

That's right, the prez will be appearing on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Wednesday, the show announced.

NBC says he'll discuss "the home stretch of the campaign."

The network notes that it will be Obama's fifth visit to the show, including a historic appearance in 2009 when he became the first sitting president not in the midst of a reelection campaign to go mano-a-mano with Leno:

Two weeks out from the 2012 election, President Barack Obama will be visiting "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (Monday - Friday, 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC) on Wednesday, October 24. This marks Mr. Obama's fifth appearance on the show, his third since taking the office of President of the United States
