Talk about job security.

A man suspected of tagging more than 100 public areas in Burban with graffiti since September worked for a company the city pays to remove graffiti.

Enrique Medrano, 53, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of burglary, vandalism and forgery, police announced Friday.

The North Hollywood man was released late Thursday on $20,000 bail. He could not be reached for comment.

Darin Ryburn, a Burbank police spokesman, said Medrano worked for Graffiti Protective Coatings, a Los Angeles firm that says it has more than 1,000 government and private clients. Burbank has used GPC for more than six years and pays the company about $100,000 a year to remove graffiti in areas including parks and alleys.

The company and the city said a GPC smartphone app that tracks graffiti helped catch Medrano.
