Los Angeles Board of Public Works President Andrea Alarcón issued her notice of resignation on Friday in the wake of a public scandal that ultimately led to a child endangerment investigation.

In a statement, Alarcón said she submitted her letter of resignation effective Wednesday, Jan. 23, and apologized to city officials and the public for her actions.
