Navy Vet with Cancer Has Yard Sale to Raise Money for Own Funeral

Today we bring you a very sad story, with a happy ending thankfully!

A 66-year-old US Navy veteran has been holding several yard sales for weeks...

Totally normal, right?

Well the reason behind Willie Davis' sales was in part due to a terminal cancer diagnosis......and he realized he didn't have enough money to pay for his own funeral.

Now here's the happier middle of the story:

During one of the sales, David Dunkleberger and Ed Sheets were looking through items and got to talking to Davis.

He had asked the two if they could spread the word about the sale because he's raising money for a funeral.

When the pair asked whose funeral and received the answer, Dunkleberger said both men were heartbroken.

“We’ve all thought our lives were bad and we are going thru rough times, but imagine worrying about selling all of your belongings before you pass away, just so you can be buried with your parents.

After thinking about it all day, Ed and I are determined to help this man."

The two set up a crowd-funding campaign that has raised almost $50,000, which will be used to help meet Davis' final wishes and whatever is leftover will be donated to another veteran in need.
