A Look Inside The Inspiring New Independent Film 'Hold On'

Looking for a new heartwarming movie, perfect for the holiday season? Look no further than the new independent film Hold On.

It's inspired by the real-life journey of singer-songwriter Micayla De Ette as she fights to keep her singing dreams alive, and save her brother from his life of addiction on Los Angeles' Skid Row.

“I want people to know that they are not alone. No matter what you are going through, there is always hope,” De Ette said about the film.

Hold On is written and directed by Tarek Tohme (who also plays Micayla's counterpart in the film), and stars actors like Luis Guzman, Maurice Benard, and even hip-hop reality star Flavor Flav! It also features live performances of some of De Ette's original songs.

“For us, the goal is to reach as many people as possible with this film,” Tohme said. "We hope that Hold On can be a vessel of togetherness and hope at a time where our cultural divide is at an all-time.”

Make sure you're listening to the Conway Show on Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. PT to hear an exclusive interview with Micayla De Ette and Tarek Tohme!
