LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Two Los Angeles city firefighters were recovering at home today after testing positive for COVID-19, authorities said.

“Last Friday the LAFD began offering COVID-19 tests to our firefighters who had symptoms consistent with the Coronavirus,” the LAFD said in a statement Tuesday.

The department said 79 individuals have been tested.

“Two firefighters have received positive test results and are both home at this time recovering from the illness,” the statement said.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that 11 officers and one civilian employee of the LAPD have tested positive for the virus, and all were quarantining at home.
