Carson Offers Free COVID-19 Testing to All City Residents

US-HEALTH-VIRUS-TESTING

CARSON (CNS) - Carson officials today unveiled a coronavirus testing facility that will offer free tests for every resident of the city, regardless of whether they are showing any symptoms of the illness.

The testing is being offered through a partnership between the city and USHealthFairs.org, with the testing site located at the Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center at 801 E. Carson St.

Carson Mayor Albert Robles said the testing will be offered to all residents, regardless of income level or whether they have health insurance.

Residents must make an appointment by going to USHealthFairs.org. People who sign up will receive a registration number they will have to bring to the testing site. The tests will be conducted in a drive-thru basis, with residents never getting out of their vehicles.

Carson city officials, claiming they have one of the highest rates of coronavirus-positive residents in the county, had been pushing the county to establish a testing site in the city. That request was recently answered with the establishment of a site at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, just outside the city limits.
