Average L.A. County Gas Price Rises For 13th Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 13th consecutive day and 17th of the past 18, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $2.952.

The average price has risen 9.3 cents over the past 18 days, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3 cents more than a week ago and 11.8 cents higher than a month ago but $1.003 less than one year ago. It has decreased 66.3 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose for the 25th time in 26 days, increasing a half-cent to $2.922. It has risen 15.2 cents over the past 26 days, including 1.5 cents Saturday. It rose for 20 consecutive days, was unchanged Tuesday and resumed rising Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 3.1 cents more than one week ago and 13 cents higher than one month ago but $1.004 less than one year ago. It has dropped 62.3 cents since the start of the year.
