Man Pleads Guilty to Misdemeanor in Shower Recording

SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 34-year-old man accused of secretly taking a video of a 15-year-old family member while she was showering in Santa Ana pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and was immediately sentenced to time served in jail since his arrest in May.

The victim's mother discovered the video of the girl on Julio Cesar Resendizfigueroa's phone while he was sleeping May 22, according to Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

The mother called 911 right away and Resendizfigueroa was arrested, Bertagna said.

Police also found methamphetamine on Resendizfigueroa's property, Bertagna said.

Resendizfigueroa pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of using a concealed recording device to record another person without their consent. He was also placed on one year of formal probation.

As part of the plea deal, counts of using an underage person for obscene matter and possession or control of child pornography, both felonies, as well as a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance were dismissed.
