Average LA County Gas Price Sets 21st Record in 24 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 24th time in the last 27 days, increasing 1.2 cents to $4.879, its 21st record in 24 days.

The average price has risen 20.8 cents over the past 27 days, including 1.9 cents Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 9.3 cents more than one week ago, 21.3 cents higher than one month ago and $1.143 greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price set its 20th record since Feb. 3, increasing seven-tenths of a cents to $4.854. It has increased 15 of the past 17 days, rising 13.2 cents, including 2 cents Saturday.

The Orange County average price is 9.1 cents more than one week ago, 20.7 cents higher than one month ago and $1.13 greater than one year ago.
