NASA Shares Photos From Europa Flyby

NASA is sharing photos from a recent flyby of the Jupiter moon Europa.

  • The Juno spacecraft's recent 'buzz' of Europa came within 2019 miles of the icy moon - which scientists believe could hold life in an underground ocean.
  • The photos reveal criss-crossing ridges and a possible impact crater - but no water plumes, which scientists were hoping to catch a glimpse of.
  • In 2024, NASA will launch a 'Europa Clipper' that will orbit the moon by the year 2030.
